WhatsApp finally started adding message reactions.

According to reports, WhatsApp is developing a new messaging feature called message reaction.

Message reaction is exactly what you think: the ability to react to text messages using emojis. Although it is always possible to respond to the message by quoting the message and sending an emoji as a reply, the message reaction will make the experience of WhatsApp users smoother.

We don't see what this feature looks like in the early stages of development. The screenshot shared by WABetainfo shows that users must be running the latest version of WhatsApp to see the response. If you respond to someone’s message and they are using an older version, they will receive a message telling them to update their WhatsApp application. You received a response: update your WhatsApp version to see the response.

We don’t know when (if any) this feature will be rolled out to end users. If WhatsApp does decide to implement the message response feature, it is likely to appear in the WhatsApp beta first. But seeing how early the development of this feature is, we don’t expect it to appear on WhatsApp anytime soon.

The news response has been added to the list of WhatsApp features currently under development and has not yet been released to the public. This includes new shortcuts for sending payments quickly, end-to-end encryption for local backups, new options for disappearing messages, and multi-device support for iPad and Android tablets.
